Oktoberfest and etc

The Capitol Building is very, erm, cute, is it not? So tiny. Its the only other one I've seen besides Hawaii's that lacks a dome. I like it.

If you stand right here, in the very center of all these pillars, a sound phenomenon occurs and you can hear your voice echoing from all directions even when whispering. It's pretty cool. They also all have bells in their tops that chime every hour.

Delicious distillery that has a taproom featuring local beers.

One of the many reasons I love Halloween. I think I'm going to start decorating Christmas this way. (kind of Nightmare Before Christmas, but without the Christmas)

It was (or rather, would have been) John Lennon's bday, so this group of musicians played all of Revolver plus some extra Beatles and Lennon songs. I missed a lot of it though. The wait in line for a damn beer (at Oktoberfest, no less) was rediculous. There should have been many more beer stands, and a lot less small children. Actually, the "kids zone" as it was labeled, was no more than (can't figure out the name of the fucking thing) oh, you know when petting zoos have the fenced in area for kids to ride donkeys or ponies, and they're tethered to what looks like a large spoked merry-go-round. Well, it was that, but without a pony or an ass. A bunch of kids holding the poles and running in circles, with very little adult supervision. It was a very hilarious white trash moment.

I went to a local punk rock show at the Douglas Corner Cafe, which from my understanding typically showcases country and singer/songwriter type music. The accoustics were pretty terrible, and no one bothered to move the tables to have a decent pit space because most people didn't even bob their heads. I only remembered to photo 2 of the 4 bands (they were Little Viking, Diarrhea Planet, Cannonmen, and Pujol). I left early. Cannonmen were the only ones that were more punk than pop, and the first 2 bands had a couple of very similar songs. I was also trying to meet some kids in the local scene, figure out what else is going, but as more people arrived they became an impassably tight knit group. It was lame.

Cock and bulls. Haha

RCA Studio! (Didn't want to take many pics since I don't think I was suppose to be there)
